What it does
What exactly does Martora do that I can't already do myself?
It pulls your Etsy, Square, and in-person sales into one live number instead of you exporting and adding it up yourself. It also watches your materials against your recipes and tells you before you run out, and gives you one AI-written recommendation a day instead of you staring at spreadsheets deciding what matters.
Does it work if I only sell on Etsy, or do I need Square too?
Either one alone is enough — Etsy, Square, and manual/in-person are three equal, independent ways to start. You can add the others later, or never.
Can I use it if I only sell in person, with no online shop at all?
Yes. You sign up with just your email, no platform connection required, and add products and sales by hand.
What happens if I sell on all three?
They combine under one account — the dashboard totals revenue and orders across everything you've connected, and the Products tab groups items by category regardless of where they came from.
Setup & switching devices
How long does it take to connect and start seeing real numbers?
A few taps for Etsy/Square OAuth, and listings show up immediately — there's a live fallback specifically so you're never staring at an empty shop while the background sync warms up.
Will connecting Martora change anything in my actual shop?
No — it only ever requests read-only access. It can't edit a listing, change a price, or touch an order.
Can I switch devices and pick up where I left off?
Yes — accounts are tied to your email, not the device. Reconnecting Etsy or Square resolves back to the same account, and there's email one-time-code sign-in for accounts with no platform to reconnect through.
How far back does it pull history?
About 13 months of orders on first sync, so your reports aren't starting from a blank slate.
Trust & your data
Can Martora see or touch my payment info?
No — Etsy and Square handle checkout themselves. Martora never sees card numbers or payout details, only shop, listing, and order data via a read-only token.
What data do you store, and where?
Your account email, whatever Etsy/Square data you've granted access to, anything you enter manually, and basic crash/usage diagnostics — stored on our backend. Access tokens live server-side only, never on your device.
Is my data used to train AI, or shared with anyone?
No training, no selling, no ad-sharing. The daily recommendation sends the AI only an already-computed summary — never your raw shop data. Data otherwise goes only to the vendors that run the app.
What happens if I cancel or delete my account?
Disconnecting a platform just stops future syncing. Fully deleting (Settings → Full reset & delete account) is permanent and irreversible — it wipes everything.
Materials & inventory
Do I have to enter every ingredient by hand?
No — recipes are optional and two-tier: "Simple" mode is just one rough number ("I can make ~40 more"), no ingredient list needed. "Detailed" mode is the real per-material breakdown, for when you want it.
If two products share a material, does it get confused?
It tracks a shared materials catalog rather than per-product copies. One honest caveat: the low-stock projection is deliberately conservative — it estimates "if I kept making just this product," not a pooled worst-case across every product drawing from the same material at once. Good enough to catch a real shortage early; not a perfect multi-product model yet.
Do I have to set up a recipe for every product first?
No — skippable per product, and a product can be explicitly marked "no materials needed" as a real finished state, not just left hanging.
The AI recommendation
What's the daily recommendation actually based on?
The exact same low-stock and low-material numbers the app already computed for your dashboard — units remaining, your actual sales velocity, days until stockout. The AI's only job is turning that into one clear, prioritized suggestion.
Is it guessing, or working off real numbers?
Real numbers — recent transaction history feeds the sales-velocity math; nothing here is invented.
Pricing & cancelling
How much does it cost, and can I cancel free?
$9.99/mo or $99.99/yr (saves $20), both starting with a 7-day free trial. Cancel before the trial ends and you're never charged.
If I stop paying, do I lose my data?
No — your sales history and materials stay intact. But without an active trial or subscription, you can't get back into the dashboard next time you open the app. Resubscribe and everything's exactly where you left it.
Is this for me?
I already use a spreadsheet — why switch?
A spreadsheet only knows what you typed into it, and only tells you what you asked it. Martora updates itself from your actual sales as they happen and proactively tells you things you'd otherwise have to notice yourself — like a shared material about to run out across three products you weren't thinking about today.
